Hopes on Syria

The Secretary of State (Dr i Henry Kissinger) said today the United States had had j more diplomatic exchanges with Syria this week which )he hoped will lead to Syrian’lsraeli negotiations on troop I disengagement. Dr Kissinger, who returned Ito Washington on Monday I from his Middle East trip [which helped work out the Egyptian-Israeli troop disengagement, noted that Syria Ihad given the United States [some proposals to transmit Ito the Israeli Government.
Dr Kissinger said: “We have had some more exchanges with Syria in the interval and we hope this will lead to negotiations between Syria and Israel.”
