Works dispute flares again
(N.Z. Press Association' NEW PLYMOUTH. Jan. 25. The job seniority dispute which closed the J. C. Hutton, Ltd. Eltham freezing works from December 20 to January 14 when 170 men went on strike, has flared again in another part of the works and disrupted beef killing. Slaughterhouse and boning room staff (about 60 men) held a one-day protest stoppage today. They will report for work on Monday. The Eltham Freezing Workers’ Union secretary (Mr R. Potroz) said the issue was over the company’s choice of a replacement for a boner who cut his hand ion Thursday and had to I leave. ■A
