New limbs filled

i.X.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, January 24. Mr Andrew Barker and his son, Wayne, who lost their artificial limbs in a house fire in Invercargill last Sunday, were fitted with replacements at Dunedin Hospital yesterday.

Mr Barker lost two artificial hands and his son lost an electronic seeing cane and an artificial hand in the house fire.

The men were injured in 1971 when detonators exploded on their farm.

The electronic cane used by Wayne Barker, who was blinded in the accident, was valued at SBOO, anil its loss will restrict his activities in working his piggery.

The house caught fire about 15.15 a.nt. on Sunday and only three blankets and a quilt were saved. The house was insured, and it is believed that Mr Barker will rebuild on the site.
