The profit was after charging research and development expenditure of $45,787 and making other smaller adjustments. In the previous year these expenditures were transferred directly to reserves. The company’s uranium mine is on a care and maintenance basis. The directors said the question of reopening it was under continuing review. The cost of care and maintenance and recommissioning was $470,191 compared with $412,342 in 1972. No dividends have been paid since 1964.
