Lifting platform warped
Commonwealth Games; weight-lifting officials were [ dismayed yesterday to dis-! cover that the specially-built lifting platform stored in the James Hay Theatre had warped. . The venue supervisor, Mr H. Morrison, said last night he was confident the platform could be restored to perfect condition for the opening of the lifting series tonight. The two divisions to be decided are the fly-weight and the bantam-weight.
