Rubbish left

Householders in Heathcote County who failed to put their rubbish bags at the kerb, and left them instead at their gates, had the bags left behind on Monday.

This was because of a change in the county’s rubbish collecting ..ethods, notified in a circular to householders. “We are going to a fiveday collection using a new, smaller truck which has only one man on the back picking up bags,” said the county engineer (Mr F. K. Stone). “The change means that we use the one truck to collect rubbish on the streets and in narrow, private rights-of-way where two were used before.”
