Mint coins presented

The Royal Mint has given the New Zealand Government ■ collection of rare and valuable coins. The New Zealand coins date from 1933, when the mint first began striking for New Zealand. Mr T. H. McCombs, the High Commissioner in London, accepted the coins on behalf of the Government atj a ceremony last month. The coins cover the period! from 1933 to 1965, the last | date of New Zealand’s* pounds, shillings and pence coinage. Notable among the! pattern coins is a shilling and a threepence dated 1933 by Kruger Gray and a Wai-i tangi crown by Percy Metcalf dated 1935
