First woman to enter
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH.
A young Christchurch woman, Miss A. R. Wilde, has become the first female to enter the trans-Tasman single-handed yacht race.
The chairman of the race committee (Mr W. L. Williams) said Miss Wilde intended to sail the two-year-old, 33ft sloop Valya in the race, which will begin from New Plymouth in late April.
