More kiwis at Mt. Bruce

(N.Z. Press Association)

MASTERTON, Jan. 14. Two more kiwis have been added to the breeding stock at the Mount Bruce Native Birds Reserve, near Masterton.

The birds will be used for breeding, the officer-in-charge at the reserve (Mr C. Roderick) said today.

The two kiwis were nursed back to health by a man from the Kaitaia district, and are now in “excellent” health.

The reserve is now permanently closed to the public.
