THIRD TEST

No call for Howarth ’’The Preu" Special Service LAUNCESTON Barring accidents, the New Zealand cricket team will not make a call for H J. Howarth, the left-arm spin bowler, to join the team in Australia in time lor the third test at Adelaide, beginning the weekend after next. This speculation has been led by W. J. O’Reilly, the great Australian leharm spinner, and a great admirer of Howarth’s ability. However, the New Zealand manager (Mr R. A. Vance) said that the tour manat?*-, ment had never together discussed asking for Howarth to join the team "My general attitude is that 15 players were asked to do the job, and after thev have worked as hard as these fellows have, thev are entitled to represent New Zealand throughout the tour.” Mr Vance said.
