Police seek
assistance
The police still do not | know how the 45-year-old man found lying on the footpath outside the Caledonian Hotel on Saturday evening was injured. The man, Peter Jack Cav. anan, of 3(10 Hereford Street, was in Christchurch Hospital last evening with serious (burns and internal injuries I Detective Sergeant A. E. ; Harris said last night that the | police had interviewed several persons, including the men who had lifted Mr Cavanan from the footpath on to the back seat of his car. However, the police still did not have a clear idea of how he had been injured, and 'anyone who saw anything I untoward near the hotel , about 10 p.m. on Saturday I should contact them.
