“NO WAY” TO PLAY
Criticism by Burgess (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) AUCKLAND. The Auckland cricket captain and century-maker yesterday, M. Burgess, is not available for test cricket against the Australians this season. Burgess, aged 29, has quashed any hopes that he may be available for New Zealand again this summer. He says he is not fit enough for test cricket at the moment and, besides, is disillusioned with the way a lot of i cricket has been played in the i recent Plunket Shield series. ! “The' whole attitude was dis- [ appointing,” said Burgess. “The I Auckland side has been criticised, but I feel that if we had ibeen playing county cricket and (made the declarations we did in .this series, we would have had i a lot of entertaining cricket and [good finishes.
