Sixty cups of tea
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 14. Tea will never be the same for an Auckland teenager, David Elder. Today he broke the world tea-drinking record, by downing 60 cups in 59 minutes. The previous record, 46! cups in an hour, was set by' an Australian in 1972. I ‘‘lt was just something to do,” said David Elder, aged 15, who is on his school holidays. He will apply to the “Guinness Book of Records”; for acknowledgement of his feat. Asked how he felt about his achievement immediately; after downing his last cup, he! said, “I’ve had it.”
