Boys softball to pattern
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. There is an all-out battle of supremacy pending in the four day national schoolboys softball tournament being held in Palmerston North. Five teams, from Wellington, | Hutt Valley, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu and Auckland, had two wins in the first two games. Results from the first day:— Section A.—Hawkes Bay 9, Bay of Plenty 7; Manawatu 6, Nelson 0; Wellington 12, Midlands 2; Hawkes Bay 9, Canterbury 8; Bay of Plenty 8, Nelson 6; Manawatu 8, Midlands 7; Wellington 12, Canterbury 1. Section B.—Wairarapa 9, Waikato 7; Hutt Valley 17, East Coast 0; Auckland 4, Counties 2; Hutt Valley 9, Wairarapa 0; Counties 4, East Coast 3: Auckland 5. Waikato 1.
