Discussion on oil
(N.t Prest Association) WELLINGTON, January 4. ' Discussions on the oil situation will be held on Tuesday between the four main oil companies operating in New Zealand, Government departments and the Minister of Energy Resources (Mr Freer). Mr Freer’s private secretary (Mr R. A. Hyde-Smith) said that pricing was among the topics to be discussed. At the meeting, which will be chaired by Mr Freer in his office, will be representatives of BP. Shell, Caltex. and Mobil as well as representatives of the ministries of Energy Resources, Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry. Treasury officers may also be involved Mr Hyde-Smith said that ithe meeting had no particular significance; a similar meeting had been held just before Christmas and the Government departments had 'been in close touch with the oil companies since then
