ATHLETES CLASH
Q.E. II Park] meeting
Two further New Zealand Commonwealth Games athletes have arrived in Christchurch and will be running in the inter-club meeting at Queen Elizabeth II Park this afternoon.
They are the sprinter, Mrs jW. Brown (New Plymouth), [and the 400 metres hurdler, R. O. Johnson (Dunedin). A feature of the meeting will be the clash between S. Armitage ("Dunedin) and P. Mills (Auckland) in the 110 metres hurdles. Mills, who was a late inclusion. in the Games team, was third in the national ) event behind Armitage, but I since then Mills has broken the national record. The Englishman. D. Bedford, said he would not com- : pete at the meeting, but there is a chance that the Scot. D. Jenkins, will have his first race in New Zealand.
Jenkins, the top-ranked 400 metres runner in the Commonwealth, will attend the meeting and he will decide at the track whether to compete
