Ore ship at Wellington
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 4. The bulk ore ship Yasukawa Maru called at Wellington for about nine hours today to take in 800 tons of bunker oil in the stream. The Yawasaki Line ship is bound for Taharoa on the west coast of the North Island to take on iron sand. Usually the carriers call at Marsden Point or Auckland for bunkering. A spokesman for the Shell Oil Company said the ship was bunkered at Wellington to fit in with “energy i resource requirements.”
