WORLD WAR II
Moscow dogma not softened
! (N.Z. Press Assn —copyright) MOSCOW. January 4. A new Soviet Union history of the Second World War accuses Britain, France, and the United States of plot-
ting to smash Russia before the outbreak of the conflict, and says that they waged [war against Germany and Japan only for imperialist 'motives. I The allegations are in the ! first volume of an important historical document designed Ito give the latest Moscow [view of the war; and, in ' spite of the present emphasis [on the relaxation of tensions ! between Moscow and Washington, the work shows no softening of Communist dogma on the war. The introduction says that the book shows clearly that lithe Soviet Union carried the , I main burden of the war, that the conflict showed “the ;i unconquerable force of :) Socialism,” and that the i work is published only i because “reactionary ; authors” are falsifying the history of the war by trying Ito belittle Soviet Union ’ feats, and praise too much • the efforts of Britain and i America in “secondary fronts.”
