“Take the Plunge!”
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) BOGNOR REGIS, Jan. 3.
A teen-age girl decided to make her own protest against Britain’s energy crisis and industrial troubles: she walked nude into the icy sea, carrying only a placard. “Come On, Britain, Take the Plunge!” the banner read above Miss Lindsey Davies, aged 16, who defied temperatures of 8 degrees Celsius to disrobe on the beach at Bognor Regis. Asked why she chose to protest in the nude, Miss Lindsey replied: “If I am prepared to risk pneumonia, the Government and the miners and the railwaymen should take a chance.
“I hope they all get the message.”
