A cookery book for flatters
Solo flatters probably waste more food than anyone. This does not mean that they are a particularly extravagant lot, but it is extremely difficult to cater thriftily for one person, even after many years of practice. Michael Volkerling’s new book, “Food for Flatters” [(“Or How to Close the [Edibility Gap”), will, there[fore, provide the answers for those who live alone and want to cut down on their [food bills. It will also be 'most useful for groups of [flatters who share expenses, [and who take turns in buyling, cooking, and budgeting. [ The author says that all [the recipes—from France, [lndia. China. Germany, Indonesia, Greece, Spain. Britain. Italy, Australia and New [Zealand —are cheap, nourishing. and easy to prepare. [tions, and the number of servings. [ The range of recipes in[eludes breakfast and luncheon snacks, and vegetable and salad dishes; rice, pastas and leftover; meat and fish; sauces and desserts.
