N.Z. boy’s hat-trick

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CANBERRA.

A hat-trick by the rightarm fast bowler, M. Bracewell, helped the New Zealand schoolboys cricket team to a 50-run victory over Australian Capital Territory schoolboys yesterday.

Bracewell of Tauranga, was the architect of an A.C.T. batting slump, with the local side dismissed for a paltry 44 runs. It was the third hattrick in his short bowling career, and he finished with five for 25 from nine overs.

New Zealand was all out for 94 in its innings, scored off 35 overs, with B. Edgar top scorer on 22. Bracewell was the only other to reach double figures, with 10 not out.
