The French yacht. Pen Duick VI, favourite to win the third leg of the Whitbread round-the-world race, arlved hack to Sydney harbour yesterday with a broken mast. _ Pen Duick, ssiled by E. Tabarly, broke its main mast about 230 miles south-east of Sydney on Sunday. A crew « e tober, p. Monsalngeon, who was at the wheel at the time, said the yacht was under full sail with a spinnaker up when the mast snapped.
