Negotiations on merger
The Institute of Local Authority Administration has begun negotiations with the Institute of Management with a view to a merger of the organisations.
The move was supported [ by the recent annual meeting of the Canterbury branch of the local authority institute. Officers elected by the branch included Mr J. Reid, Waimairi County Clerk, as chairman, to succeed Mr N. Clemens (Kaiapoi), who is retiring, Mr M. H. Horne, Christchurch Drainage Board secretary, vice-chairman, and Mr F. E, Swift, secretary.
