Cut in meat subsidy

WELLINGTON, Dec. 19. The sheepmeat subsidy on hogget, wether, and lamb will be reduced 3c per lb from Monday. Notice of this was gazetted today. The rates payable in all areas will be: hogget and wether, 7c per lb; lamb, 4c per lb; and ewe, 4.5 c per lb (no change).
The sheepmeat subsidy scheme was first gazetted on April 6, and subsidies were paid out on meat sold after March 26.
