RACING Buza fancied at Levin

“The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON. Buza is likely to cap some very good recent! efforts with a victory in the Levin Gold Cup at Levin today. The nine-year-old chestnut, which at one stage not so Hong ago, looked a spent i force, has put a good deal of | zest into this campaign and not much improvement would be needed for him to win the first leg of the T.A.B. concession double today. Buza is trained at Gisborne by J. T. Turnbull, so it means he has a long trip down for this particular race. Howlever, it should be worth it. ! He was only just beaten by I Arragon’s Star at Napier last i start, and before that had gone good races at Trentham. Donna Parree. which did so well to finish second behind Oncide last start after covering extra ground, looks a fine chance again. She has been taken along patiently by her Hawera trainer, B. Deacon, and she looks ready to go another pretty good race here. Rose Mellay, trained on the course, has a good chance, especially now that R. J. Skelton is to ride her. She was a good second to Mellay Vite in the Metropolitan Handicap at Riccarton last start.

i Carlinka and Marene look (as good as any in the second leg of the T.A.B. double, the (Allen’s Handicap. I Carlinka, a three-year-old, (ran a useful fifth last time at Trentham, but Marene looks the improver after her good third last time out behind Sharif at Feilding.
