Major T. C. Satchell, Royal New Zealand Dental Corps, of Christchurch, who has been promoted to lieutenantcolonel and appointed deputydirector of Defence Dental Services in Wellington. Born in Christchurch in 1929, Lieutenant-Colonel Satchell was educated at Nelson College and gained his bachelor of dental surgery degree at Otago University. He enlisted in the Regular Force in 1964 after 11 years in the Territorial Force and was posted to the Royal New Zealand Air Force Base. Wigram, as dental officer. He has been at Wigram since, except for two months in 1965 at Lauthala Bay, Fiji, and in 1971-72 when he had a year’s clinical leave to study in Britain for his diploma of dental public health (Royal College of Surgeons).
