Taylor. Taylor and the others, R. Higgins (Australia), J. C. Desaint [France), A. Pineda (United States), and J. Guce (Philippines),! as well as the leading New Zealand rider, W. Skelton, engaged in half a dozen or so gallops on the course proper. Nine visiting apprentices were I present and each got at least. one ride to familiarise himself' with the course, although three, of them have ridden Tn races at-EHesrlie.
