CA’.Z, Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 13. An investigator is being !sought to inquire into allegations of cruelty to sheep I loaded in the Lebanese stock carrier Farid Fares at Napier recently. The name of the regional i veterinary officer of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fishleries (Mr E. H. Shortbridge) had been put to Napier iwatersiders for their consideration as an investigator, said a spokesman for the ‘ Ministry. Today the watersiders decided that Mr Shortridge was unacceptable as he had been involved in the original report to the Minister. Instead, they want an independent investigator appointed.
