Charges of rape
Two men will appear in the Magistrate’s Court on charges relating to the rape of young women in Hagley Park and near Addington Raceway last month.
The men, one aged 17 and the other in his early twenties, were arrested about 3 p.m. yesterday after an artist’s impression of one of the wanted men was printed in the Christchurch newspapers. The head of the Christchurch C. 1.8. (Detective Superintendent B. Wilkinson) thanked the 30 persons who had telephoned the police. Six of the callers had identified one of the arrested men, he said.
