Radio play competition

The New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation will sponsor a radio playwriting competition as part of the Napier centennial celebrations. The N.Z.B.C.’s executive director (Mr M. A. Rickard) said prizes would be offered in two categories — for writers under 26 and writers over 26. Each prize would be $5OO. Although Napier must be featured in the theme or setting of the plays submitted, New Zealand-wide entries will be accepted. The competition will close in three months, and the N.Z.B.C. expects to announce the results next April.,
