Improvement for wool?

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Increased prices for synthetic fibres resulting from the Middle East oil crisis could lead to an improved international position for wool, the Lands and Agriculture Committee of Parliament was told. There was also a trend towards natural fibres, a promotional team from the International Wool Secretariat told the committee, but against this there was a continuing resistance to high wool prices. The committee chairman, the Under-Secretary for Agriculture (Mr B. G. Barclay) told reporters after the briefing that the committee had been put in touch with what the I.W.S. was trying to do, and some of the factors influencing wool marketing and carpet production.
