VAN FAIR AMISS
Van Fair, second to Philemon in the $lO,OOO Stars Travel Invitation at Alexandra Park recently, has been withdrawn from all engagements at the New Zealand Cup meeting starting next Tuesday at Addington Raceway.
He has been showing signs of soreness since racing at Auckland, according to his trainer, R. D. Butt. “The trouble seems to be in a tendon and we will have to spell him for a few weeks in order not to risk a complete break-down,” he said. All going well Van Fair will race again in the autumn, when the Rowe Cup will probably be 1 among his main missions.
