THE CEASE-FIRE SITUATION.—The Israeli-held territory (shaded in this map) includes about 750 square miles of Egyptian land on the west bank of the Suez Canal. The Egyptians have reclaimed a broad strip on the east bank of the canal, north of Ismailia to the Mediterranean Sea, The previous cease-fire line was along the canal.
