Six men trapped in hull
CALAIS. October 12 Frogmen braving high winds and seas worked through the night at Calais in an effort to save six men trc.nped inside the capsized hull of a French dredger. late last night they had bored a hole through the hull and were working to make it wide enough for a man to climb through. The Cap de la Hague overturned in 15ft seas and a gale at dawn yesterday when only three miles from Lalivs. Tugs beached the wreck off-shore, and rescue work began when frogmen reported hearing survivors banging on the ship's plates. A search lor five missing men was called oft at nightfall and was being resumed at dawn. Only two survivors from the 15-man crew have been found. Two bodies were recovered by a British channel ferry. A late, unconfirmed re port from London says that a Channel ferry has radioed that some of the men trapped in the hull have been rescued.
