KAIKOURA COAST and CANTERBURY. — Fresh gusty north - westerlies persisting in many inland places, but mainly variable winds about the coast; rain about the Alps and foothills: scattered light falls spreading elsewhere at times. CENTRAL MARLBOROUGH and the SOUNDS. — North-west winds, strong I about Cook Strait and fresh and gusty in other exposed places; fair and warm. NELSON. — Mild, with moderate northerly winds, and varying cloud. BULLER and NORTH WESTLAND. — Moderate to fresh northerlies; periods of rain, mainly light. SOUTH WESTLAND. — Northerlies predominating, fresh at times; further rain, some heavy falls in the southmoderate temperatures. OUTLOOK. — Occasional rain in most districts.
