The “Young Conservator of! the Year” for 1973 is| Michael Dennison, aged 15,j a fifth-form pupil at Waira-i rapa College, Masterton. 1 The award, presented by the chairman of the Nature Conservation Council (Sir Robert Falla) is made each year as part of the National Conservation Week campaign. It is intended to encourage conservation ac-i tivities by young people. Michael Dennison is anj active member of the Omi-; thological Society, the Wai-i rarapa branch of the Royal! Forest and Bird Society, and: the Wairarapa Conservation! Society. The award consists of a' certificate, an inscribed! binocular, and an extended; field trip sponsored by the) Hauraki Gulf Maritime Park: Board.
