FAITHFUL MINOR
A trade-in with a difference was officially handed over to a New Plymouth motor firm recently: it was a one-owner Morris Minor that had covered 377,764 miles in its 36 years. The car was traded in on a new Mini by Mrs Dorothea Longman, who bought the car for £253 in 1937. Since then, the Minor has been rebored once, and has had three valve-grinds. Mrs Longman said the car was given a grease and oil-change on the first of every month, and in 36
years it had never let her down. “I feel I’m having a bereavement, the loss of a very faithful friend.”
