Thirty-eight horses are likely to contest the race, which looks very open. In pre-post betting in recent months, bookmakers have named 10 different horses as favourite and on the eve of the race they still cannot agree 'on their assessment. Some favour Red Rum and others • Princess Camilla and none has the favourite at under 12/1.
