Hope, a South Canterbury entrant in the South Island Finn class yachting championship at Timaru last week-end. returns to shore with a broken mast during one of the heats on Saturday. Conditions varied appreciably throughout the contest, but the Olympic Games representative, B. G. de Thier (Canterbury), returned an unbeaten record in the four races.
