Opening of netball
j More than 300 teams will I occupy the 32 hard courts at Hagley Park when the 1973 netball season officially opens today. Although entries in the ( Canterbury Netball Association’s competitions are ; slightly down on last year's ; figure 'of 379, it is expected that numbers will increase as some of the larger clubs sub[mit more teams to cater for surplus players. i The annual tournament, I which is held before the com[petitions start, will be divided this year. There are 371 entries—l 6 more than . last season—and the senior and senior reserve sections i will be played today, to en- ! able the visiting team from : Victoria to play in the series. The tournament for the : second to the sixth grades 1 will be held next week and the competitions begin on April 28.
