HUMANITIES RESEARCH CENTRE VISITING FELLOWSHIPS (A 27.2.1.1 The University has established a Humanities Research Centre which is designed to stimulate and advance research in the humanities in Australia, with particular attention to the European intellectual and cultural tradition and its influence overseas. When developed, the Centre is expected mprise about Hi academic staff: the tenured members will be the Director and one oilier with primarily bibliographical responsibilities, while the remainder will be on shortterm fellowships. There will be adequate suppoit staff. It is hoped that a Director will take up duty in the second half ol 1973; in the meantime the administration of the Centre is in the hands of an Advisory Committee. Enquiries are invited from persons interested in appointment as Visiting Fellow for periods of betw.ii three and 12 months. Fellows will receive appropriate giants. The amounts of the giant will be determined tn each case in accordance wilh qualifications and experience and whether or not a Fellow is on paid leave from another institution. SALARY Salary on appointment will be in accordance with qualifications and experience within the ranges: Research Fellow $6804-$9324 pa. (5 x 504); Senior Lecturer $9619-$! 1.234 p.a. (5 x 323); Lecturer $6804$9387 p.a. (7 x 369) (all amounts in Australian currency). Academic salaries are under review. OTHER CONDITIONS Appointment as Research Fellow is normally for three years in the first instance with a possible extension to a maximum of five years.
