Khan chosen as captain
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. , Intikhab, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team in New Zealand, will not be captain of the side to play England in a three-test series beginning in Lahore on March 2.
M. J. Khan, one of the bat-; ting successes of the present' tour, which ended yesterday, will be the captain for the English series. The Pakistanis and Intikhab did not know of the change until they arrived at the ground for the fourth and final day of the third test. The Pakistan Cricket Board of Control has made Khan captain for all three tests. Only last week he was appointed captain of Glamorgan in the English county; competition. He takes over! this job from A. Lewis, the man who will lead England against Pakistan in Lahore. CLOSE FRIENDS Lewis and Khan are close friends; they studied together at Cambridge. Lewis has sent Khan several cables of congratulations during the New Zealand section of the tour as Khan scored consistently well in.
