SOME SECTIONS STAND OUT ON WEAK NEW ZEALAND MARKET
Sections of the New Zealand sharemarket weakened again in quieter trading yesterday. In generally easier tading stock and station agents, finance companies, timber-product exporters and retailers stood out.
The leading stock and station agents weakened again. NMA-Wright Stephenson lost ■ 4c at 180 c and Dalgety N.Z. I was 3c lower at 225 c. The quotations in Christchurch,
-.appeared to indicate slightly .(firmer prices in the offing. : Timber-product exporters ■ shares were lower. N.Z. Forrest Products eased throughi out the dav to be 5c down! I at 360 c at the end of trading. C-rter Holt fell 5c to 270 c. ’ The finance companies re-! fleeted the increased compe-i tition, in personal lending. ■ from the banks. Broadlands was heavily! /traded on a weaker market ;!for the shares. The lowest .! nrice paid, in Auckland, was , 1110 c a share, but the closing I price was 2c higher making (them steady on the day. ! C.S.I. was a net 2c lower at 1113 c after selling at 112 c m Wellington. Arthur'Barnett rose 5c to! 260 c. but D.I.C. lost 5c at 335 c while Haywrights. McjKenzies. and the snecial-i situation stocks, George Court and Smith and Brown 'were also lower.
