Reception for poets
A reception for visiting poets would be held in the legislative chambers of the Provincial Council Buildings on March 8, Mrs H. L. Garrett, convener of the Christchurch Arts Festival literary committee, said. Among poetry to be read by the visitors would be early compositions, and works by poets who had since died, such as J. R. Hervey, Mrs Garrett said.
The historical setting of the chambers was thus most appropriate for the occasion.
