Plans for rally
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 18. An ad-hoc group of Springbok tour supporters is planning a rally next Sunday at Parliament Grounds in spite of a decision by the Wellington Rugby Union to abandon its plans for a rally. Mr Tony Sutcliffe, of Wellington, one of the rally organisers, said today he hoped to see 1000 people at the rally. “We want to show that there are people who want to see the tour go ahead,” he said. Mr Sutcliffe said he was not a member of any Rugby club or organisation but “just like to watch Rugby.” | He said that he and other ‘people interested in the rally would be getting in touch with Wellington Rugby clubs I for their support. The Wellington Rugby Union decided not to hold its rally because it did not have enough time to get permission to use Parliament grounds and complete arrangements.
