Bank money recovered
CN.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, Feb. 18. The Whangarei police have; recovered “the bulk of the, money” from the Petone bank; I hold-up. A 17-man police party i ! under the direction of Detec- i tive C. J. Sterling returned; to the Whangarei police sta-i tion this afternoon with the money and some firearms. Detective Senior-Sergeant E. Jones said the search began on Friday, and continued yesterday. He particularly wished to thank members of the public who assisted with information which led to the arrest of two men on Friday, and the recovery of the money I yesterday.
