Horse and pony breeders' show draws praise

J. e Atchinson, president of j Riding for the Disabled, | told a crowd of about o 1400 at a horse and ? pony breeders’ show at s the Addington Show s Grounds yesterday. Mr Atchinson was not alone in his use of superla- J tives. All speakers who i addressed the crowd were 2 enthusiastic about the ’ standard of the show, which j features more than 300 r horses and ponies, and which ’ it is hoped will be an annual J event in Canterbury. r Mr N. Mahon, president of ■ a committee which spent } about two years and a half 1 preparing for the show, < described the standard as ’ “amazingly high.” He wel- 1 corned breeders and exhibi- j tors from all over New Zea- 1 land, as well as two Aus- i .tralian judges, Mr R. i Richardson and Mrs L. 1 Howlett.
