O.K. champion beaten
(N.Z. Press Association* AUCKLAND The Auckland OK dinghy helmsman, G. Woodroffe. reversed the placings of last year in the world championship in the class when he beat K. Axerott (Sweden) into second place in a four-race series sailed off Takapuna Beach at the week end.
The former eight times national champion in the class, C Roberts, was third, with one of the younger stars. R. Ward, of Whangarei. fourth. Thirty spon sored boats, which raised .*3OO towards the OK overseas tours fund, raced.
Woodroffe. ninth in the first race, followed up with two sec onds and a third to finish the contest with the loss of 23 points. Axerott’s 27.2 points were made up of a ninth, a third, a second and a fifth. The world champion in the class. Axerott will travel to Wellington on Wednesday to prepare for the New Zealand champion ship the week after.
