Mr Pearce to speak
<N.Z. Press Association) ■' NAPIER, Feb. 18. i' A former president of the. New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr T. H. Pearce, of Auckland, has been invited to I speak at a mass rally in sup-' port of the Springook tour of New Zealand at the Sound! Shell in Marine Parade, Napier, next Sunday. The chairman of the i Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union, Mr T. Johnson, confirmed to-! day that the rally would be I held as planned, regardless iof speculation that the tour might be cancelled. “I feel we have an obligation to stand up for our prin-i ciples.” he said. “1 have been delighted to hear that rallies are being .planned in other centres. We ' |are also intending to ask the, former Maori All Black, Dr I; M. N. Paewai, of Northland.] ; to speak.
