Union profit $14,000
(N.Z. Press Association' AUCKLAND The Auckland Rugby Union made a profit of more than $14,000 for 1972. Nearly $55,000 was received from representative games, more than $38,000 from club matches, and more than $29,000 from Auckland's share of New Zealand Rugby Football Union gates. (In 1971, the year of the Lions tour, the ’ Auckland profit from N.Z.R.F.U. was $47,000). Club-match income was a little higher than in 1971. Representative-match income was $3OOO lower than in 1971, when there were two Ranfurly Shield games in Auckland.
